Crazy Money Awards for Excellence

I've been completely immersed in the world of PF blogs for about a year now. When I first started delving into them, there seemed to be a limitless supply of quality blogs. I could spend hours bouncing from one blog to another finding interesting articles. Unfortunately, there's a finite number of interesting topics to blog about.
At some point, the blog reader reaches the inflection point on the learning curve. From here on out, their time spent reading suffers from the law of diminishing returns. PF Blogs begin to become repetitive and the interesting posts become fewer and far between. There are, however, a few shining beacons out there that consistently post quality material. The PF blog community is extraordinarily enriched by their efforts.
So without further adieu, here are my picks for the Crazy Money Award for Excellence:
Searchlight Crusade - Dan specializes in mortgage lending. He adopts an essay style for his blog and writes no-nonsense, readable articles for anyone that's considering buying or selling real estate. In terms of quality advice, it doesn't get much better than this.
Bankdeals - For over a year and a half, Banking Guy has been providing a distilled picture of prevailing interest rates at local banks and credit unions. His consistent posting, styling, and formatting make it a fantastic blog to locate the best place to park your cash. I truly admire his dedication to updating the site on a daily basis.
Boston Gal's Open Wallet - For the sheer volume of posts, Boston gal epitomizes what a blog should be - brief snippets about her financial life delivered in a colorful and entertaining manner. Her net worth also places her close to the top of the heap -- she must be doing something right.
Five Cent Nickel - Mr. Nickel is another one of those dedicated bloggers that consistently posts novel and entertaining entries. He's another of my "daily reads."
Yet Another Blog About Money - Mr. Bastard doesn't post too often, but when he does, I usually see eye to eye with him. Good financial advice, with a heavy dose of family issues for the new dads out there. He can be pretty intense at times -- I hope he doesn't drop dead of a heart attack anytime soon.
So there you have it -- some of my favorite blogs around town. A large part of maintaining a quality blog is finding your niche and serving it consistently. Here at Crazy Money, I endeavor to discuss the importance of setting goals; proper accounting procedures to measure those goals; and techniques to maximize your ability to reach those goals. The final result is a growth in net worth that rivals nearly all of the other blogs in the PF community.
